Spring Home & Garden Show’s longest-running participants shine

Roger Seely Sr., who has participated in the Spring Dispatch Home & Garden Show for more than 50 years, loves to have fun at the shows and has dressed up as dozens of characters including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Monet. He is owner of Seely's Landscape Nursery.

Instead of paying a fortune on an Elvis Presley impersonator for his nursery’s “Gardens That Rock” display screen at the Spring Dispatch Dwelling & Garden Show in 2011, Roger Seely Sr. jazzed up a $35 costume of the King and broke out his guitar.

With 52 years of crafting backyard displays and enjoying characters under his belt, Seely is again at this year’s Property & Garden Present with his guitar once again, joining a extended checklist of featured landscapers and exhibitioners.

The present runs via Sunday at the Ohio Expo Centre, 717 E. 17th Ave., and Seely and other veterans of the exhibition say they nevertheless have a burning appreciate for the celebration, even right after several decades of collaborating.
