Police presence outside Lowe’s Home Improvement in Greensboro

Greensboro police explained they obtained several phone calls about an armed gentleman who ran inside the retailer. Rayvon Juriel Barrett was arrested a quick time later.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro Lowe’s Household Advancement is open up all over again after someone entered the shop with a gun, forcing an evacuation.

Police responded to the East Cone Boulevard shop Wednesday afternoon.

Police arrested the suspect, 23-calendar year-aged Rayvon Juriel Barrett, soon right after.

No one particular was harm. Barrett is going through several charges, which include going armed to the terror of people today, possession of firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, and carrying a hid weapon. Police said they have been able to arrest Barrett just after receiving phone calls from quite a few people.

Jim Wallace explained the suspect ran by him in amongst the aisles.

“I thought somebody was in a hurry,” Wallace said. “I believed nothing of it until finally I bought to the conclusion of the aisle and observed two police officers had been chasing him. One had a gun drawn by now.”

Lowe’s staff members helped Wallace and other customers get out unharmed.

Law enforcement failed to say what type of gun Barrett may perhaps have experienced, other than that it was a handgun.

Investigators mentioned a man or woman named immediately after observing an armed person close to Lowe’s on Utah Place. Police reported Barrett reportedly ran into the retail store.

“Violent crime nationwide is on the increase, and I am going to commend the citizen for making that cellular phone phone,” Interim Police Main Teresa Biffle claimed.

Detectives stated Barrett surrendered.
