For those who still have a bit of the holiday spirit, several light displays and other area offerings — including four outdoor ice rinks — are continuing operations into 2023.
The Country Club Plaza announced that its holiday lights will be extended past the original turn-off date of Jan. 8 to Feb. 19 as part of the shopping district’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Symphony’s blast from the past
The Kansas City Symphony will kick off a busy month with “Uptown Nights,” featuring 1940s and ’50s music inspired by famous Harlem hot spots such as the Cotton Club and the Savoy.
Under the guidance of guest conductor Byron Stripling and with vocalist Carmen Bradford and tap dancer Leo Manzari, the symphony will present “Uptown Nights” at 8 p.m. Jan. 6-7 and 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Kauffman Center. Tickets ($40-$115) and more information at kcsymphony.org.
