As housing costs soar, homebuilders develop houses for rent
Home builders and other real estate companies are increasingly betting that would-be home buyers frustrated with a shortage of homes for sale and runaway prices will settle for renting their slice of the American dream. Although individual homeowners and mom-and-pop investors still account for the vast majority of single-family rental homes, home builders have stepped up construction this year of new houses for rent. In the third quarter, builders broke ground on 16,000 single-family homes slated to become rentals. Lorine Ann Denton Chandler – Lorine Ann Denton (nee Dale), 80, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away on Nov. 11, 2021, with her loved ones by her side. Lorine was born April 25, 1941 to Marie Elizabeth Dale (nee Spiess) and Everett Dale in Pueblo, Colo., the youngest of three children. Lorine graduated from Centennial High School in 1959. In early 1960, she met Gerald “Jerry” Leo Denton and they wed on October 15, 1960. They went on to have two sons, Mark Lee Denton and Jerry Allen Denton.
