This 135.96-acre ranch in Ennis offers loads of land, plenty of wildlife and a luxury home all just about a half-hour drive from downtown Dallas. The ranch at 699 Sugar Ridge Road in Ennis is on the market for $7,250,000. The property has a main house, a pool, a cabana, a guest house and three stocked ponds.

The main house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is over 7,000 square feet. It was built in 2014.

The home’s design includes stonework and logs throughout that give it a cabin-like feel. Co-listing agent Valerie Dillon with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty said the property could be used for multiple purposes, depending on a buyer’s preference, thanks to its proximity to Dallas.

“It really could be a primary home. It could be a secondary home. It could be a corporate retreat,” she said. “There’s a lot of options with this house.”

Inside, the main living areas include a large kitchen with stonework and wood log details throughout. The kitchen has a large Sub-Zero refrigerator and a Viking range and oven. A long countertop in the kitchen provides a seating area, and there is also a dining table off to the side of the space. The home has a wine tasting room with storage, plus separate cooling features, according to the listing.

The home’s primary suite and one additional bedroom sit on the main level along with the kitchen and living spaces. Two more bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lowest level along with an exercise room. The home’s third level includes a loft-like bonus space that looks onto the main level.

There’s a back patio or balcony accessible from each of the home’s three levels. On the lowest floor, where the two guest suites sit, doors open to a patio, and visitors or residents can walk straight out to the pool. The second floor, or main level, has a balcony with views of the pool and surrounding land. The third-floor loft space has another patio that looks to the backyard. Dillon said the Dallas skyline is visible from the home’s front porch on a clear day. The home also has a backup generator and an elevator.

Outside, there’s a cabana set next to the pool and patio. The cabana has an outdoor living area, a wood-burning fireplace, and an outdoor kitchen, plus a full bathroom and storage closets.

The property also includes a two-story guest house. The guest house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens and multiple living spaces. While the guest house currently has one entrance, Dillon said future owners could create an additional entrance to create two separate guest suites.
